With a busy lifestyle, I was looking for a little hobby that I could enjoy in my own time — something calming, creative, and a way to switch off and destress.
I attended just one crochet workshop, and from there, my curiosity quickly grew into a real passion. I became so keen to learn that I started teaching myself new stitches, techniques, and ways of creating different pieces. There was something so special about watching a simple ball of yarn slowly turn into something handmade.
After creating a few pieces and sharing them with my family, my dad told me something that made my crochet journey even more meaningful. He said that I had inherited this talent from my loving late grandma, who also loved to crochet.
From that moment, my love and passion for crochet grew even more. I was lucky enough to have her handmade crochet purse and her delicate crochet hook passed down to me. To me, it felt like more than just a beautiful keepsake — it felt like a little sign to take my crochet journey one step further.
I often wish my lovely grandma could see what I’m creating today. I hope she would be proud to see me carrying on a little part of what she loved and turning it into something of my own.
What started as a simple hobby to help me slow down and unwind has grown into something very close to my heart. Every piece I make carries a little bit of that journey, and a little reminder of where it all began.
